During the past few months Jose has been doing a lot of tractor shopping. The farm received a grant to by a new one. Every dealer he would visit and talk to would give him nice booklets featuring the type tractors they sell. Needless to say Cruz has quite the collection now - of "tractor books" that is. I won't go into all of the details but after a few deals (on red tractors - one that was exactly what he wanted) disappointingly fell through he decided that the next best tractor to meet the farm's needs was a John Deere. For anyone who knows him, you would know that that spites him a bit - because he is not crazy about green! Well, finally yesterday the tractor arrived.
I WOULD GATHER CHILDREN
Some would gather money
Along the path of life.
Some would gather roses,
And rest from worldly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin,
I would seek a golden curl,
And a freckled, toothless grin.
For money cannot enter
In that land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way.
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me!
